Shergaon Villagers Unanimously Oppose Lead–Zinc Exploration

Residents of six West Kameng villages have unanimously opposed lead–zinc exploration across a 206.86 sq km block. At an August 17 meeting, they alleged surveys began without community consultation and raised concerns over forests, culture, tourism and wildlife. The exploration proposal has not yet been suspended.
